Design with Translucent Solid Surface

2g Surfaces: HI-MACS samples backlit to show translucency

One of the more exciting design options with solid surface is the ability to back light certain colors to make them glow.  You can also create designs, etchings or pictures that when backlit show a picture or secret message.

Back lighting can be accomplished in many ways from the use of a conventional bulbs to LED's.  Here I have set a few samples on a GE light blanket - which I think will open a ton of doors in the design industry when they are able to be manufactured larger and at a budget conscious price.

Here are some of the HI-MACS colors that look the best when considering the use of backlighting.
